Redmi 15 5G to Debut New Identity in India

According to Xiaomi India, the Redmi 15 5G will be the first smartphone in the country to carry the refreshed branding. The reimagined logo and visual language are designed to resonate with a new generation of users in India—described as bold, grounded, ambitious, and self-aware.

Sudhin Mathur, COO of Xiaomi India, stated: “The new Redmi identity reflects this shared evolution. Young India is bold yet grounded, ambitious yet self-aware.”

China Launch Set the Stage

Although the rebrand is new to India, it originally debuted in China in November 2024 alongside the launch of the Redmi K80 series. The updated visual identity in China was received positively, setting the tone for a phased global rollout.

A Decade of Growth in India

Since entering the Indian smartphone market in 2014, Redmi has rapidly expanded its footprint. Xiaomi recently celebrated 11 years in the country and claims to have sold over 220 million Redmi devices in India alone. Globally, the company boasts over 1.1 billion Redmi smartphones shipped.

In less than two years after launching in India, Xiaomi reached a revenue milestone of $1 billion (approximately Rs. 8,765 crore), cementing its position as a dominant force in the Indian tech space.

Conclusion

Xiaomi’s visual overhaul of the Redmi brand is more than a cosmetic change—it’s a strategic pivot to better connect with its increasingly diverse and dynamic user base in India. With the Redmi 15 5G leading the charge, the company is poised to reinforce its brand relevance and continue shaping the future of smartphones in India and beyond.
