Renault Launches All-New Trafic Van E-Tech Electric: Up to 200 Miles of Range and Impressive Cargo Capacity

Renault, the renowned French automaker, has introduced the highly anticipated electric version of its Trafic van, completing its range of electrified light commercial vehicles (LCVs). Following the successful launches of the Kangoo Van E-Tech electric and Master E-Tech electric, Renault proudly presents the Trafic Van E-Tech electric, a groundbreaking zero-emissions commercial vehicle.

Efficient Electric Powertrain

Under the hood, the Trafic Van E-Tech electric boasts a front-mounted electric motor, generating an impressive 90 kilowatts (122 horsepower) and 180 pound-feet (245 Newton-meters) of torque. This robust electric motor powers the van’s smooth and efficient performance.

Impressive Driving Range

The van is equipped with a 52-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack, which provides a remarkable driving range of up to 184 miles (297 kilometers) on a full charge. For those seeking an extended range, a “long-range” variant is available. While this version is limited to a top speed of 56 miles per hour (90 kilometers per hour), it can cover up to 200 miles (322 km) on a single charge.

Flexible Charging Options

Renault has designed the Trafic Van E-Tech electric to offer versatile charging solutions. It can be charged using a single-phase 7 kW AC charger or a three-phase 22 kW AC charger. The latter option can deliver an impressive 31 miles (50 km) of range in less than 25 minutes, making it incredibly convenient for busy professionals. Additionally, a 50 kW DC fast charger is in the pipeline and is expected to be available next year.

Variety of Configurations

Renault’s all-new Trafic Van E-Tech electric is available in two body lengths – 16.66 feet (5.08 meters) and 17.97 ft (5.48 m) – and two heights – 6.45 ft (1.96 m) and 8.19 ft (2.49 m). This versatility ensures that it can cater to various business needs. The van can accommodate items as long as 13.61 ft (4.15 m) in the extended L2 version with a trap door in the partition. It offers an impressive payload capacity of 2,425 lbs (1.1 tonnes) and a towing capacity of 1,653 lbs (750 kg). The loading volume varies from 204.8 cubic feet (5.8 cubic meters) to 314.3 cu. ft (8.9 cu. m), ensuring ample space for cargo.

Smart Connectivity and Innovative Storage Solutions

Renault has incorporated smart technology into the Trafic Van E-Tech electric, allowing users to conveniently schedule battery charging, monitor battery status remotely, and even pre-heat the cabin using the standard Renault EasyLink multimedia system or the MyRenault smartphone app. Furthermore, users can access information about charging points along their route and determine reachable destinations based on the battery’s remaining range.

Inside the cab, the van offers a generous total of 88 liters of storage space, including 19.7 liters in the center console, 14.6 liters in the doors, and 54 liters in the bench. Some trims even feature an innovative Easylife drawer in place of a traditional glove box, providing an additional 6.6 liters of storage.

Availability and Production

The new-generation Renault Trafic Van E-Tech electric is set to hit the European market in October, with deliveries commencing in November. The production of this innovative electric van takes place at the French Sandouville factory, with the motors and chargers manufactured at Renault’s Cleon plant and the batteries assembled at Flins.

Renault’s Trafic Van E-Tech electric represents a significant step towards sustainable and efficient urban logistics, offering businesses a versatile and eco-friendly solution for their transportation needs.
