India’s traditional PC market continues its strong upward trajectory, registering 10.1% year-over-year (YoY) growth in Q3 2025, according to the latest IDC Worldwide Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker. With 4.9 million units shipped, the market has achieved its highest quarterly performance ever, surpassing the 4.5 million units recorded in Q3 2024.
This extraordinary expansion reflects increasing consumer demand, enterprise refresh cycles, the surge of AI-enabled devices, and a highly competitive market environment.
Strong Growth Across All PC Categories
The Indian PC landscape saw significant momentum across all major device categories:
Notebooks: Up 9.5% YoY, continuing to dominate overall shipments
Desktops: Grew 11.6% YoY, supported by government and enterprise orders
Workstations: Achieved the highest rise at 14.2% YoY, driven by demand for high-performance systems
Premium notebooks (priced above USD 1,000) also saw 8.5% YoY growth, as both consumers and enterprises gravitated toward more powerful, productivity-focused devices.
AI PCs: The Fastest-Growing Category
AI-enabled notebooks demonstrated exponential growth:
+126.5% YoY growth
Basic AI notebooks accounted for 85.9% of total AI notebook shipments
Next-gen AI notebooks crossed 100,000 units shipped for the first time in a single quarter
Strong e-commerce discounts and cashback schemes played a critical role in this acceleration.
