Tesla Launches First High-Speed Charging Station in Gurugram, Strengthening India EV Network

Tesla continues to accelerate its expansion in India by strengthening its electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. Shortly after inaugurating the Tesla Center in Gurugram, the company has now launched its first dedicated Tesla Charging Station in the city, marking a significant step toward building a reliable EV ecosystem in the country.

Located at DLF Horizon Center, Gurugram, the new facility reflects Tesla’s long-term commitment to supporting EV adoption through fast, accessible, and digitally integrated charging solutions.

Strategic Location at DLF Horizon Center

The newly opened Tesla Charging Station is positioned within the surface parking area of Horizon Center, a prominent commercial hub in Gurugram. The location has been carefully chosen to serve both daily commuters and long-stay visitors, making EV charging more convenient for urban users.

This charging hub is designed to support a wide range of charging needs, from quick top-ups during short visits to slower charging for extended stays.

Advanced Charging Infrastructure and Speeds

Tesla has equipped the Gurugram charging station with a combination of high-speed and standard chargers to cater to different user requirements.

Charging Setup Includes:

4 V4 Superchargers

These high-performance chargers deliver peak speeds of up to 250 kW. According to Tesla, a Model Y can regain up to 275 km of driving range in just 15 minutes, making long-distance travel significantly more practical.

3 Destination Chargers

Operating at 11 kW, these chargers are ideal for users who plan to park for longer durations, such as while working or dining.

Tesla claims an impressive 99.95% network uptime, supported by its streamlined Plug In, Charge and Go system. This approach eliminates complex authentication steps, allowing drivers to simply plug in and start charging with minimal effort.

Seamless Digital Integration Through the Tesla App

The entire charging experience is managed via the Tesla mobile app, which acts as a central control hub for vehicle owners. The app offers several intelligent features designed to enhance efficiency and convenience, including:

Turn-by-turn navigation to nearby charging stations

Automatic battery preconditioning before arrival to maximise charging speed

Live updates on charger availability and charging status

Integrated digital payments

Notifications once charging is complete

This deep level of software integration ensures a smooth, user-friendly charging experience that aligns with Tesla’s global standards.

Tesla’s Growing Charging Network in India

With the addition of the Gurugram Horizon Center site, Tesla now operates three active charging locations across India, indicating steady progress in infrastructure rollout.

Current Tesla Charging Network in India:

Total Superchargers: 12

Total Destination Chargers: 10

Operational Charging Stations:

Gurugram – One Horizon: 4 Superchargers, 3 Destination Chargers

Delhi – Worldmark 3: 4 Superchargers, 3 Destination Chargers

Mumbai – One BKC: 4 Superchargers, 4 Destination Chargers

This growing network lays the groundwork for future EV adoption and intercity travel within major metropolitan regions.

Public Workshops to Promote EV Awareness

To familiarise consumers with its charging technology, Tesla is hosting interactive workshops at the Horizon Center charging station from December 17 to December 21. These sessions are designed to educate local residents and potential buyers on:

How Tesla Superchargers work

Differences between Superchargers and Destination Chargers

Best practices for efficient EV charging

Such initiatives highlight Tesla’s focus on consumer engagement and EV education as it enters the Indian market.

Tesla Model Y Availability and Home Charging Support

The Tesla Model Y is currently available for purchase in India with a starting price of ₹59,89,000. To complement public charging infrastructure, Tesla also offers home charging solutions, ensuring that owners have reliable access to charging at their residences.

This dual approach—public fast charging combined with home charging support—helps address range anxiety and improves overall ownership convenience.

Tesla Experience and Service Centers in India

Beyond charging infrastructure, Tesla has established multiple experience and service touchpoints to support customers:

Tesla Center Gurugram

Orchid Business Park, Sector 48
Timings: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Tesla Experience Center Delhi

Aerocity, Worldmark 3
Timings: 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM

Tesla Experience Center Mumbai

Maker Maxity, BKC
Timings: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

These centers allow customers to explore Tesla vehicles, receive assistance, and experience the brand ecosystem firsthand.

Conclusion

The launch of Tesla’s first charging station in Gurugram represents more than just infrastructure expansion—it signals the company’s intent to play a long-term role in India’s electric mobility transition. With high-speed charging, strong digital integration, and increasing consumer outreach, Tesla is laying a solid foundation for EV growth in urban India.

As the charging network expands and awareness grows, Tesla’s presence could help accelerate the shift toward cleaner, more sustainable transportation across the country.
